It was for three years that Jesus also walked the earth. "He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief." Is 53:3 So also those who minister as God's messengers often have to walk a path of humilation, which is itself part of the message. For we teach not just with words, but also with our lives. Here Isaiah lived out the message of judgment God had sent him to give. What message are we communicating to others through our lifestyle?

Throughout the judgment passages of Isaiah God attempts to induce repentance by warning them of the consequences of their sin. Here we see shame being a part of the judgement. Yet in a societies which have corrupted their conscience, nakedness is not reckoned as shameful. In the last 50 years American culture has become increasingly less shameful of nakedness, as is progressively demonstrated through its movies and beach wear. Furthermore other shameful behavior like homosexuality and sexual immorality in general have become reckoned practically shameless in the society over just a few decades. Thus in this present shameless society there is less to motivate proper and decent behavior.
